Free Bowling all Summer for Kids…@ Carly’z Corner

KidsBowlFree2

I learned about this program last year.  It seemed a little confusing, but it really is a simple program to take advantage of….and it’s free!

Just go to www.KidsBowlFree.com and  register yourself and your children.  There will be coupons available for each child that you register, for each week.

KidsBowlFree1

The program runs from May 19, 2014 until September 1, 2014.  The kids can bowl 2 free games each day.  The only cost that you pay is for shoe rental.  At our bowling alley, Cloverleaf…the shoe rental is $3 per child!

There are some awesome deals for shoe rental for the entire season for the kids and there are packages that can be purchased if parents or other adults want to bowl with the kids.

So go and support your local bowling alley…it is great exercise and the kids really enjoyed it!

Frugalicious Week…..Day 1 @ Carly’z Corner

I get many compliments on how I adorn myself and my girls.  I know you remember, how I said that I am frugal!   Well when I tell people oh, I bought this from a second-hand store or from a garage sale, they’re surprised!   Many people exclaim that they would love to save money when shopping for clothes, shoes and accessories but they don’t know where to go.

This week on Carly’z Corner, I am going to give you the names and locations of a few places where I go to shop.  And you too,  could look like a million bucks for only…… $10.99!  LOL!  (Okay maybe, you won’t find a million dollar outfit, but I found a BCBG Casmere sweater for $5, when I well know that it likely sold for over $100 in the department store!)

So check out my posts this week as we find ways to cut costs on back to school clothes for the kids, find one of a kind items, tools, accessories for you or for your home……… at deep discounts!!!!  I even interviewed some of the best frugalista’s that I know to offer my readers with some extra tips on garage sale negotiations and etiquette.

First, set yourself a budget and stick to it.  But one tip that one of my frugalista’s shared with me and now I am passing it on to you…is never be afraid to negotiate!  But be reasonable and fair.  A chair that has a $25 price tag on it…do not offer $2 for it….a fair and reasonable offer….$15.  Think about your budget and what you need to find. If your budget allows you to spend $20 on the item…do not start negotiating at $20. You want to walk away feeling good about your purchase!

This weekend….on August 10, 2013…there are two great community Flea Markets being held.  Flea Markets are a great way to find multiple items whether they are for your home, tools, furniture or clothes. A one stop shop….. is what I call them!

2013 Annual Flea Market

flea-market

OAKWOOD VILLAGE, Ohio — The flea market at Roseland Lanes is for people looking to find a good deal or make some extra cash.

The bowling alley hosted a flea market on August 10 and September 14. The flea market will take place in the parking lot at Roseland Lanes, located at 26383 Broadway Ave. in Oakwood Village, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on both dates.

Admission to the flea market is free for shoppers. Bowling costs $1 dollar per game during the event and hot dogs, soda and coffee will be sold for $1 dollar each.

People are invited to sell their stuff at the flea market and keep the profit. It costs $15 dollars per car or truck load to set up shop in the parking lot.

Proceeds from this event benefit Roseland Lanes’ Jr. Scholarship Program.

Stay tuned for some more frugal tips….

Just Putting It Out There……kids can bowl free all summer!

Okay…so here is why it’s so important to network with other parents.  In speaking with a parent at my daughters’ school, she informed me about “free bowling for kids for the summer”.

You guys know how I feel about frrreeeeee stuff, right!  So I went to the website: www.parentsquad.com and I am posting what I found there, so that you can check in your neck of the woods to see if your local bowling alley may take part in this type of program.

“Freebowling.com thought you might be.  They have set up a free bowling program, with the intended effort of keeping kids entertained this summer in a safe, secure and fun way.  They are also doing this to say thank you to the people, churches, schools and other organizations that use their bowling centers in the spring, fall, and winter seasons (freebowling.com).

There are guidelines and restrictions to this offer, but if you live in an area where bowling centers are participating, sign up! There are no fees, signing up is easy, and there is even the opportunity to buy a bowling pass for the entire summer for 4 family members at the cost of $19.95 per family (freebowling.com).

  • If you would like to buy the family pack good for 4 people (2 games each a day per person @ 19.95 per family), you can also do this here.
  • The 4 people can all be adults – the kids bowl free even with the family pass purchased

Guidelines and important information:

  • You must have a participating bowling alley near you. Here is a link to see if you do:Participating Bowling Alleys
  • Each bowling alley sets its own age restrictions.
  • Each bowling alley sets its own date limits for when this summer program begins and ends.
  • Each bowling alley can set dates and hours where the promotion is not good.
  • Parents must sign their children up – kids are not allowed to sign themselves up.
  • A portion of every family 4 pack (19.95 per family) will be donated to build youth activities in the fall.

To sign up:

  • Find a participating bowling alley near you (Participating Bowling Alleys)
  • Click on the Bowling Center’s Link
  • Fill in the required information
  • You will be sent emails each week with your free bowling coupons for that week (they will be dated).  Or you can log into your account, and print your coupons at anytime. Here is the account link: Account  Log-in“.

Now when I went to http://www.freebowling.com, it took me to a site AMF, which I am assuming is chain of bowling alleys or a group of bowling alleys that have formed an association.  The list they posted for my area, seemed a little limited.  So what I suggest that you do is search the link in this email under participating bowling alleys, find the one closest to you and give them a call or drop-in to inquire about their “free kids bowling program”.

So enjoy!

Happy Frreeee Hunting!
