Just Putting It Out There……Kidz Day 2014 @ Carly’z Corner

I had never heard of this “kidz” fun day festival before.  I was listening to one of my favorite radio stations, 98.1 WKDD, (an Akron Ohio radio station)  and partially heard the ad about 100 activities for kids for $3.  You know when I heard “$3” my ears perked up! Right!

The event takes place, this Saturday, July 19th from 11am – 5pm at Boettler Park in Green Ohio.  (I will try to link to this post a map giving some general directions).

Just to give you an idea of how much there is to do at this Kidz Day….there is a petting zoo, inflatable land, there is a crafting area, a kids golf course, rock wall climbing, a mobile video game theater, a kids railway and bungy bouncing!  There are all day character meet and greets and there will be special events….like a helicopter landing and visits from the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Review of …..Free Day @ the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

So….. on April 26th, The Cleveland Foundation gave for the month of APRIL the gift of free admission into the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo!

There was a record-breaking 35, 701 people that took advantage of the FREE day at the Zoo.  Although we have to park and walk a country mile, it was worth the trek.  The animals were active and engaging.

Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy!

Just Putting It Out There….Earth Day “2014”

Earth Day aims to inspire awareness of and appreciation for earth’s environment.  The April 22 Earth Day, founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson, was first organized in 1970 to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet as well as to encourage awareness of the growing problems of air, water and soil pollution.

Participation in Earth Day is a great way to inspire your family to give back to our planet which does so much for us.  There are so many amazing activities to engage in that are FREE to the public.

Here are some events happening in and around Northeast Ohio:

Cleveland – Hunt of the Month: Recycle Symbols at Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation
April 1-30, 2014

Cleveland – Trail Trackers: Earth Day at North Chagrin Reservation
Wednesday, April 16, 2014; 10am-11am

Cleveland – American Girl Morning: Save the Earth! at Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation
Saturday, April 26, 2014; 10am-noon

Painsville – FREE City of Painesville Earth Day Celebration
Saturday, April 26, 2014; 1pm-4pm

Medina – FREE 18th Annual Medina County Earth Day Celebration
Saturday, April 26, 2014; 10am-4pm

Akron – Party for the Planet at The Akron Zoo
Saturday, April 26, 2014; 11am-4pm

Every community is engaged in this global celebration….In Harrah Louisiana Downs….they are having a free SHRED-IT program, in San Francisco...their Earth Day celebration (which is being held on April 19th) has a “A Call to Action” theme:

In Columbus, Ohio….their Earth Day celebration, themed “Gratitude” boasts of a week-long celebration of cleaning up communities, planting trees and will end with a festival of music and food for all that participated in this great event.

So get out of the house, do something great to help the environment!!!
