Okay gang (well to few following my blog…lol). Today’s featured museum is the Cleveland Museum of Art. The Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) is an art museum situated in the Wade Park District, in the University Circle neighborhood on Cleveland‘s east side. Internationally renowned for its substantial holdings of Asian and Egyptian art, the museum houses a diverse permanent collection of more than 43,000 works of art from around the world. The museum has remained historically true to the vision of its founders, keeping general admission free to the public and with a $600 million endowment it is “one of the wealthiest in the nation,” states Wikipedia.
The museum offers some pretty awesome free events…. such as….. lunch tours which feature different works of art housed in the museum’s permanent collection! How about the museum offering free tours for Alzheimer patients and their caregivers! How great is that! So check out some of the events listed below. Although free, some require pre-registration. Take your lunch break at the Cleveland Museum of Art! Revitalize and refresh with art from the collection in 30 minutes or less. It’s art with a twist—unique topics inspired by your favorite hobbies, books, television shows, and more. Meet in the atrium.

There’s nothing better than tagging along on a public tour to learn new perspectives and hear great storytelling about the works in our collections. Public tours are offered daily at 1:30 pm Tuesday through Sunday. Tours depart from the Information Desk in the Ames Family Atrium, where docent guide and topic will be listed.
Art in the Afternoon
“Art in the Afternoon” provides tours for those with memory loss and their caregivers. The tours meet the second Tuesday of the month at 1:15 p.m. They are led by docents who have specialized experience working with the memory-impaired population. These gallery conversations engage the mind and provide an enjoyable social experience. “Art in the Afternoon” is free but pre-registration is required as space is limited. To make reservations call 216-707-2464.

Hey i liked the entry on ‘Art in the Afternoon’ especially the part on those with memory loss… I forgot what I was going to say tho 🙂
